Honda Lease Return Center at Honda of Reseda

What Happens at The End of a Car Lease?

As the end of your lease agreement approaches, you might be contemplating what steps to take next. We suggest that you consider your lease-end options now, especially if you have less than six months left on your lease. At Honda of Reseda, we're here to help you make the best decision for your needs. You Have a Few Options to Choose From:

Option 1

Return your leased Honda and buy or lease a new Honda

This choice offers convenience, simplicity, and the exciting opportunity to drive away in a new Honda! Be sure to contact the Lease Maturity Center at (800) 708-6555 to discuss the process for returning your vehicle (which will include a vehicle inspection) and we will work with you on purchasing or leasing another Honda!

Option 2

Return your leased Honda to us, even if you didn't lease it here

By choosing this option, your lease agreement comes to an end when you return your Honda to our dealership. To ensure a smooth transition, it's essential to arrange a complimentary vehicle inspection within the final two months of your lease. Please note that you will be accountable for any remaining payments, excessive wear and tear, additional mileage charges, and any other obligations outlined in your lease agreement. Rest assured, we simplify the process by handling all the required paperwork when you visit us.

Option 3

Purchase your leased Honda

We often encounter instances where individuals develop a deep affection for their leased Honda that they choose to purchase it outright! Buying your leased Honda is a great way to continue benefiting from its reliability, performance, and high resale value. Opting for vehicle ownership eliminates the need for inspections, as you won't need to worry about excess wear and tear or mileage charges. Additionally, we offer attractive financing rates and extended protection plans specifically designed for lessees interested in purchasing their leased vehicle.

Other Things to Know About Leasing

  • Signs of wear & tear are allowed for a leased vehicle, but there are other signs of wear & tear that go beyond the normal, such as:
    • Dings more than 1-1/2 inches in diameter
    • Cracks in windshield
    • Other cracked or broken glass
    • Broken or damaged mirrors or lenses
    • Tears or stains in the interior
    • Stained or damaged seat cushions
    • Stereo, airbags or other automatic systems no in good working order
    • Bent or damaged wheels or rims
  • If you want to terminate your lease early, you should read your lease to find out exactly what you are allowed to do based on the terms. However, you are often able to return the vehicle and pay any fees early.
  • If your vehicle inspection shows damage, you can pay to have it fixed before you turn the vehicle in.
